A dedicated multi-sport athlete, Igor can probably out lift most people on the lineup. Quiet but dedicated, Igor is consistently in the top standings during Kanaka Ikaika's one man season on Oahu, with solid performances at Hawai'is elite solo channel crossing races for the past several years.

HOMETOWN: João Pessoa, Paraíba, Brasil, now living on Oahu
DAY JOB: Software developer.
WHEN YOU'RE NOT PADDLING YOU'RE: Probably working on my computer! But outside of work, I’m either at the beach with my wife and dog, working out in my home gym or doing another water sport like windsurfing or surfing.
MORNING OR EVENING PADDLE: Evening.
FAVORITE RUN: Kailua bay. A couple miles outside the Mokulua islands surfing back towards Castles beach.
FAVORITE RACE: Molokai Solo. It’s the race that motivates me to train all season. Crossing the Kaiwi channel is a challenge in itself, and the race brings the best paddlers in the world together for it.
FAVORITE PRE-RACE MEAL: Toast, eggs and a piece of fruit. I keep it simple and light.
FAVORITE HYPE SONG: Various hip-hop songs, from Dr. Dre to Chris Webby.
DREAM PADDLING RUN/ADVENTURE: Maui to Lanai crossing.
YOUR ADVICE FOR THE NEXT GENERATION OF PADDLERS: Be curious, not judgemental. Life is a lot more interesting when we approach it with a curious mindset.
